| Los Aluxes
is located within walking distance to the
town’s main square and Avenida Paseo Montejo.
We are approximately eight miles from Merida
international airport and 30 minutes from
the state’s principal beaches.
Aluxes are tiny Mayan
gnomes who help the farmers to look after
their crops. Even today, farmers leave out
gifts, food and drinks for the Aluxes as
a sign of gratitude for their help when
the harvest is over. If they do not leave
these offerings, they say they hear laughter,
their tools disappear and their crops are
stoned.
