The Mayakoba Golf Classic to be Held at the El Camaleon Golf Club at Mayakoba, Riviera Maya, February 22 - 26, 2012

The Mayakoba Golf Classic made golf history in February 2007 when it became the first PGA TOUR event to ever be played outside of the U.S. and Canada. After five years of steady growth, Mexico's Only PGA TOUR Event is regarded as one of the finest on TOUR. The event will attract 132 golfers, including World Hall of Fame golfer Greg Norman, and is poised to be the best year ever for the Mayakoba Golf Classic. Officials from United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and Rainforest Alliance gathered in December 2011 to honor Mayakoba Resorts, including the Fairmont Mayakoba in the Riviera Maya, and developer OHL Desarrollos as a world leader in sustainable tourism development.

Hard Rock Hotels Come to Cancun and the Riviera Maya in Spring and Fall 2012

Hard Rock Hotels International recently announced that they will partner with Palace Resorts to transform two of their properties in Cancun and the Riviera Maya into a Hard Rock Resort Hotels. The Hard Rock Hotel in Cancun is anticipated to open in the spring of 2012 and the Riviera Maya hotel will open in the fall of 2012. These two new Hard Rock resorts will feature beachfront views, exclusive dining and bar experiences, and luxury suites. The hotel will also be fully equipped to host live concerts and other on-site events.

Hard Rock Riviera Maya will combine two adjacent Palace Resorts properties, Aventura Cove Palace and Aventura Spa Palace. The Cancun Palace Resort will be converted to Hard Rock Cancun

Where is Cancun, Mexico?

Cancun, Mexico is located in the state of Quintana Roo, on the northeast coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. It is the northern boundary of an area called the Riviera Maya, sometimes referred to as the Mayan Riviera. The Riviera Maya stretches from Cancun all the way south to Tulum, Mexico and includes the cities of Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras and Akumal.
